Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Welcome and PurposeThis is a featured page

Welcome to the grassroots video wiki created for the University of Calgary’s 2009 EDER 779.01 : Advanced Research in Educational Technology facilitated by Dr. Michele Jacobsen.

This 2009 grassroots video wiki focuses on the use of grassroots video for education. While providing a general and updated overview of grassroots video, this wiki recognizes the contribution of the 2008 EDER 779.01 class’s wiki on grassroots video. The aim of this 2009 wiki is not to be a replacement for the 2008 wiki, but rather to serve as its companion. This 2009 grassroots video wiki will extend their work and will focus on the contexts of grassroots video use.

The structure of the site allows you a "frame of reference" for the information available to you here. The site structure "grew" from our areas of interest and requirements to understand both the assignment and the topic of grassroots video.

Wherever you see the map (below) click on the context to go to that page/section. If an item is grey in color that is the page you are currently visiting.

I really enjoyed seeing the breadth of use for Grassroots video. I didn't realize it could be used in so many different ways.

What would be interesting to add is a small discussion piece about the grey area of when a video is between grassroots and professional.

Kudos for a job well done.

I like the way you organized your material into the different applications and case studies. Nice work! and nice caliber of video considering the short timeframes. You obviously put a lot of work into the presentation and it was clear why each of you chose this particular topic.
